North East impressionists Cache-Cache return with their dressing-up box of musical styles, and melodic palette of multi-coloured riffs in this un-seasonal take on a real life fairy tale; their new single Pantomime (‘oh no they don’t...oh yes they do...’).

In Pantomime , the duo embark on a kaleidoscopic view of a violent relationship that bares passing resemblance to the existence of well-known fabled 2D characters such as Snow White and Cinderella, and ponder what the depth of a real life story of struggle and hardship would amount to if presented on the big stage. Without a pantomime horse in sight (not for the want of trying - they’re about 80-quid to buy!), they turn to generic puppets (they’re behind you!) and some very capable musical allies to provide narrative to their story of anger and upset. Unlike fairy tale equivalents, there is no happy ending, and the acrimonious union rolls on, like an unresolved soap cliffhanger that nobody realised was even a storyline in the first place...

The single will be released via Spotify on Friday 4th June, and will be supported by the launch of the video (on the band’s Facebook and Cache-Cache webpage platforms) on the same day. B Side to the single is In-Between Lovers, a pop ditty about a young-free-and-single, on-the rebound 20-something.

Pantomime combines the warm, crystal clear tone of jazz/big band supremo vocalist Alice Grace with the effervescent, urban swag of Geordie rapper and wordsmith Ken Masters, packaged together with formidable flautist Alex Saxon (fresh from his previous Cache-Cache appearances).
